The Taiwan Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced the addition of six new local Mpox cases in Taiwan in June, all male citizens residing in the northern and central regions. With cases ranging from their 20s to 30s, these individuals showed symptoms like rashes, blisters, and pustules and were confirmed through medical evaluations. With Mpox being classified as a statutorily notifiable infectious disease since June 23, 2022, Taiwan has seen a total of 375 cases (353 local and 22 imported) with 16 new cases this year. The Health Bureau warns of the ongoing global Mpox situation and urges vaccination as the most effective prevention method.
