A 70-year-old man was found lying in a dry, 10-meter deep riverbed in the Bigankeng mountain area of North Taichung. Emergency services were alerted in the afternoon and attempted to rescue him; however, despite efforts, the man passed away. Details of the incident are still under investigation by the authorities.
