On June 30, 2024, at around 4:00 pm, a car carrying 6 people collided with a utility pole for unknown reasons at the intersection of Beixin Road and Qingxi Road in Sanzhi District, New Taipei City. The impact trapped a passenger in the front seat, but fortunately, they remained conscious. Firefighters arrived at the scene promptly, rescued the trapped individual, and sent 5 people to the hospital for treatment. The driver, a 21-year-old surnamed Zheng, was carrying 5 friends in a 7-seater car and allegedly lost control while turning downhill, hitting road signs and the utility pole. The white car's front end was severely deformed, and the male passenger in the front seat was trapped, but all 5 occupants suffered only minor injuries and were conscious when hospitalized. Police conducted a breathalyzer test on the driver, which showed a zero reading. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident. Reminder from the New Taipei City Fire Department: In case of accidents involving high-impact collisions, do not move the injured lightly, call 119 immediately, maintain the patient's breathing and airway, protect the patient's neck, and prevent further injuries.
