Breaking News: Car suspected of brake failure! Sedan crashes into Yuzhen Zhai Lukang store, 2 people sent to hospital

In Lukang Town, Changhua County, Taiwan, on June 17, 2024, at 2:15 PM, a 61-year-old man driving a small sedan mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the car to crash into the century-old shop 'Yuzhen Zhai' at the entrance of the Tianhou Temple. Glass doors and shelves inside the store were shattered, and a passing 56-year-old man was also involved. Both were lightly injured and taken to the Lukang Christian Hospital with no life-threatening injuries. The driver, surnamed Zhao, from Taichung, will be further investigated by the Lukang Police Station. Yuzhen Zhai is a well-known century-old shop located at the intersection of Zhongshan Road and Minzu Road in Lukang, known for being at the entrance of the Tianhou Temple marketplace.
