On June 28, 2024, during an end-of-term celebration at a primary school in Pingtung, a parent treated students with drinks, leading to 8 students experiencing symptoms of food poisoning and being rushed to the hospital. 2 more students subsequently sought medical attention. Health authorities are investigating the incident for potential food poisoning. By 5 PM, most students were discharged or under observation, with 3 still in the emergency room. Parents crowded the ER seeking updates on their children, while health officials continue to monitor the situation and investigate the cause.
