A traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Kangding Road and Neijiang Street in Taipei City at 10:04 a.m. today, where a cement mixer truck ran over a pedestrian who was crossing the street. The woman's left thigh was crushed, and her left and right hands were covered in blood. Despite being rescued by the Taipei City Fire Department, the woman, who was still conscious, was pronounced dead at National Taiwan University Hospital at 11:30 a.m. The driver of the cement mixer truck, surnamed Wang, aged 61, was found to be driving under the influence, with a blood alcohol content of 0.11 milligrams, and is being prosecuted for public endangerment and involuntary manslaughter. The tragic incident resulted in the woman's death.
