A fire broke out in a four-story townhouse on Zhengyi Road, Kaohsiung this afternoon at 2:00 PM. Luckily, all four individuals inside, including a mother and son on the second floor and an elderly couple on the third floor, were successfully rescued. The 9-year-old boy recounted hearing explosions from downstairs before seeing thick smoke, yet managed to escape and hug his mother outside. The elderly couple on the third floor were initially trapped but eventually saved by firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the police and fire department.
