Former chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council Cheng Wen-tsang, involved in a corruption case, was initially released on bail but had it revoked; now, the handling judge has decided to hold a court session at 10 a.m. tomorrow (7/8). The DPP Integrity Committee convened an emergency meeting tonight and decided to file a case under the integrity regulations. It was resolved that in future judicial investigations and trials, if evidence shows his involvement in unlawful activities leading to detention, he will face a 3-year suspension. Additionally, for more serious incidents, the committee will investigate further and impose stricter penalties as per the integrity regulations.
