According to CTi News, on June 16, 2024, around 6 p.m., the deputy chief surnamed Hong of the West Gate Police Station in Hsinchu City was found shot in the head and lying lifeless in the duty room. Initial investigations ruled out external intervention. Described as diligent, optimistic, and well-liked, known as 'Pork Ribs,' Hong had recently celebrated his birthday with friends, maintained good performance at work, and received praise from superiors. The police are assisting the family and investigating the incident further.
