Zhongtian News Network reported on July 1, 2024, at 4:30 am that the Investigative Bureau recently discovered the Deputy Team Leader surnamed Huang of the 2nd Team of the Investigative Division of the Criminal Investigation Bureau, who is suspected of colluding with a secret witness in a drug case. The Investigative Bureau went to the Criminal Investigation Bureau last week to search Huang's office and bring him in for investigation. Huang denied any wrongdoing and was released on bail of 30,000 after questioning by the prosecutors. Additionally, 6 deputy inspectors from the Longtan Police Substation were also brought in for questioning and later released. It is suspected that there may have been insider trading in the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Investigations suspect that the police and secret witnesses set up a scheme involving robbery, drugs, and other crimes, but more evidence needs to be gathered hence the decision to release on bail. The Criminal Investigation Bureau stated that the legality of this case is still under dispute and further clarifications will be made in the future.
