Breaking News: Falling Rocks Hit Puyuma Express in Hualien! 500 Passengers Evacuate from Tunnel, Train Driver Suffers Fracture

Due to intense convective cloud systems in the afternoon, heavy rainfall is affecting Taiwan, with landslides occurring in Hualien area. On June 21st at 4:50 PM, Taiwan Railways Train No. 229 was struck by falling rocks in the Chongde and Horen section (inside the Horen Tunnel), causing the train to stop. The train driver has confirmed fractures, while at least 6 passengers are injured. The train is currently halted inside the Horen Tunnel, with passengers evacuating on foot with their luggage. Apart from the injured driver, the 500 passengers are reportedly safe at the moment.
