A fire broke out in an apartment on Zhongshan 1st Road in Sanmin District, Kaohsiung City at around 9 a.m. An elderly woman managed to escape with her 5-year-old granddaughter, who sustained burns on her feet and was rushed to the hospital. However, the woman's 2-year-old granddaughter remains trapped inside the residence, with firefighters currently conducting a search and rescue mission. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
