In New Taipei City's Xindian District, a fire suddenly broke out on the balcony of a certain apartment building on Biaan Street on the morning of June 14. The entire building was soon engulfed in thick smoke rising straight into the sky. The fire department dispatched 26 firefighting vehicles and 63 firefighters to the scene. Two residents were rescued from the 4th floor, and the fire was extinguished by 10:46 AM. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No one was trapped or injured at the scene, but the rescued residents were sent to the hospital for precautionary observation. The fire captain reminded the public to be cautious with fire and electricity at home, avoid clutter, and consider installing residential fire alarms for early fire detection and warning during sleep to enhance fire safety at home.
