In Pingtung industrial zone on June 22, 2024, a fire broke out in a factory, causing a large amount of waste to burn. The fire was intense, with thick black smoke seen by the public who immediately alerted the authorities. 22 fire trucks with 42 personnel were dispatched to the scene for rescue. By around 12:15 pm, the fire was contained with no casualties reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
