On June 16, 2024, at around 2:10 am, a 51-year-old female driver surnamed Huang claimed to have felt dizzy and fainted, causing her to drive her red sedan onto the light rail tracks in Kaohsiung. The incident led to the suspension of light rail services for about an hour as police assisted in removing the vehicle. Huang, tested negative for alcohol, will be fined up to NT$7,500 for violating the Mass Rapid Transit Act.
