A groundbreaking development in the double corpse case known as the 'cross-shaped overlap' in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, as on June 27, 2024, Japanese police arrested the 31-year-old daughter of the deceased couple. The daughter, Manaomi Takashima, was arrested in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, on suspicion of murder, becoming the 7th suspect arrested in the case. It is alleged that Takashima conspired with her boyfriend and 6 others to murder her 55-year-old father, Ryutaro Takashima, and 56-year-old mother, Sachiko Takashima, in April this year, to secure ownership of their restaurant business. The victims, well-known entrepreneurs in Ueno, were found with their bodies arranged in a cross, covered in layers of tape, and burned beyond recognition near a river in Nasu-town, Tochigi Prefecture. The incident reportedly stemmed from disagreements over business management between Takashima's parents and her boyfriend, who managed some of their restaurants. Takashima resigned as a director in January following the disputes. Let's reject violence and respect bodily autonomy.
