According to CtiTV News, on June 11, 2024, around 9 a.m., a male surnamed Ruan from Mainland China drove a speedboat straight into the Tamsui River mouth in Taiwan, colliding with a ferry at the Tamsui Ferry Terminal. He was arrested at the Fisherman's Wharf by the Coast Guard Administration. Minister of Mainland Affairs Council, Katharine Chang, revealed that radar and systems were not malfunctioning; it was human error that led to the incident. Ruan, a former naval ship captain in the People's Liberation Army, caused the mishap. The Coast Guard Administration will hold a press conference at 2:30 p.m. to explain the situation further.
