A 62-year-old man in Nangang District of Taipei was attacked by a colony of hornets while cleaning a long-uninhabited apartment, resulting in a swollen and painful right arm. The Taipei City Fire Department responded to the emergency and the man was sent to the hospital without major injuries, with the hornet nest being removed by animal control personnel. During the active season of hornets from June to September, the public is advised to be cautious and contact the animal control team for assistance to avoid dangerous encounters with bees or snakes.
