On June 15, 2024, in the afternoon, a motorcycle caught fire outside the Costco chain store in Qianzhen District, Kaohsiung. The fire was successfully extinguished around 5 p.m., with only damage to the tail and turn signal of the motorcycle reported, and no casualties. Witnesses observed white smoke and fire emitting from the motorcycle's rear lights and turn signals, leading to suspicions of self-ignition. The motorcycle owner, Mr. Hong, who had just finished washing his motorcycle before heading to the store, expressed uncertainty about the cause of the fire.
