A landslide occurred in Meishan Township, Chiayi County, with large pieces of soil and rocks falling down and dust rising. Residents captured the dramatic scene on Lione 154-1 Road around 5.7 kilometers from Shitoukan, with shouts of 'It's coming down!' and 'There's a lot this time!' Emergency services rushed to the scene to close the road, with the county government advising people to avoid the area and use alternative routes like Routes 166, 162A, and 154. Due to recent heavy rains causing soil liquefaction and cliff collapses, there were fortunately no casualties or damaged homes during the landslide. Cleanup efforts are ongoing with an estimated completion by tomorrow afternoon, and in the meantime, alternative routes are recommended for commuting.
