A murder case occurred in an apartment on Minhe Street in Wanhua District, Taipei, where a 68-year-old man surnamed Chen killed a 78-year-old man surnamed Yan with a knife. Chen fled to a convenience store near Zhongshan Road in Hsinchu City to surrender. The local police apprehended him and alerted the authorities in Taipei. The incident stemmed from a dispute over unpaid rent between Chen, a tenant, and Yan, the landlord. Further investigation by the police is ongoing to clarify the motive behind the murder. Chen has been taken back to the police station for questioning.
