On July 1, 2024, the Control Yuan will present a petition for a constitutional interpretation and temporary measures to the Constitutional Court at 2:30 PM today, following the controversial passing of the Parliament Expansion Act aided by the blue and white coalitions. This marks the fourth instance of four constitutional branches concurrently requesting a constitutional interpretation. The Legislative Yuan rejected the reconsideration of the Parliamentary Power Expansion case on the 21st, with President Lai Ching-te signing the Legislative Powers Act and amendments to the Criminal Code on the 24th, which took effect on the 26th. The Control Yuan will be represented by Director Yang Chang-hsien and lawyer Li Yuande for this petition.
