Taiwan's train No. 229 new Taroko was passing through Hualien Chingshui Tunnel in the afternoon of June 21 when it collided with falling rocks, causing the first and second carriages to derail, resulting in 9 injuries. Among the injured, a driver suffered a bleeding fracture in his hand. The injured ranged from 4 to 77 years old, with the driver having his right elbow bandaged and being stretchered off.
