On June 17, 2024 at 11:16 PM, a serious car accident occurred in Dongshi Township, Chiayi County, early on June 18. A mini truck and an SUV collided for unknown reasons, resulting in 2 drivers being seriously injured and 2 others injured, with one driver being thrown out of the vehicle. Upon receiving the report, emergency services immediately rushed the injured to the hospital for treatment. One 59-year-old male driver was found without signs of heartbeat or breathing, but was successfully resuscitated in Puzi Hospital and is now being observed in the critical care ward of Chang Gung Hospital. The other three injured, a 37-year-old male, a 31-year-old female, and a 6-year-old boy, suffered minor abrasions but remained conscious; they have been transferred to Chang Gung Hospital for further treatment.
