A serious car accident occurred in Dongshi, Chiayi around 5 am on June 18. A van and a small truck collided at the intersection of Highway 28 and Highway 17, causing both vehicles to lose control and crash into the roadside, damaging a landmark in the Yongtun community. One driver was thrown from the vehicle and showed no signs of life, while three others suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
