Due to the vigorous development of convective cloud systems in the afternoon, Taiwan is prone to short-duration heavy rain. The Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain alert for 10 counties and cities, with rain expected to last until the evening, and Hualien County under a national-level alarm. The possibility of localized heavy rain in various mountainous areas of 10 counties and cities was highlighted, reminding the public to beware of lightning, strong gusts, and potential landslides, rockfalls, and flash floods. Additionally, a mudslide occurred near Hualien's Huide Tunnel this afternoon, with scenes of rolling yellow mud resembling a waterfall, causing alarm.
