United News Network reported on June 24, 2024, at 8:36 am that at 7:45 pm, the Central Weather Bureau issued an immediate thunderstorm warning for Hualien County, lasting until 8:45 pm, reminding the public to be cautious of heavy rain, lightning strikes, flash floods, rockfalls, landslides, and low visibility in low-lying areas. In the evening, scattered rockfalls were reported at 163.4 kilometers along the Su-Hua Highway, with mudslides at 163.9 kilometers. Images showed the severe thunderstorm warning and the rockfalls along the highway.
