On June 30, 2024, at 12:44 p.m., strong winds in the area caused trees to touch power lines in Hsinchu, resulting in a power outage for 3,920 households in locations such as Haibin Road, Tianfu Road, and Rongbin Road. Taiwan Power Company restored power to 1,772 households within one minute and sent personnel for repairs. Full power restoration was completed by 1:35 p.m. The outage was suspected to be caused by tree branches touching high-voltage lines.
