Late-night shaking in Tainan City's Liuying District on July 2nd at 3:30 AM where a Richter scale 3.4 small regional earthquake occurred with a depth of 8.7 kilometers, resulting in the maximum intensity of level 1 in Tainan City, Chiayi County, and Yunlin County. Prior to this, at 3:28 AM, there was also a Richter scale 4.0 earthquake in Liuying District, making it a consecutive double tremor event with a maximum intensity of level 2 in Tainan City, Chiayi County, level 1 in Kaohsiung City, Chiayi City, Yunlin County, Changhua County, and Taichung City.
