As the convective cloud system intensifies in the afternoon, Taiwan is prone to short-duration heavy rainfall, prompting the Central Weather Bureau to issue a heavy rain advisory for 10 counties and cities in Taiwan, with Keelung, Taipei, and New Taipei City under heavy rain warnings. The regions under severe thunderstorm alerts and heavy rain include Keelung, northern coast, Taipei City, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, mountainous areas of Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Nantou County, Yilan County, and Hualien County, cautioning against lightning, strong gusts, and landslides. Taipei City, New Taipei City, and Taoyuan City also received instant messages for heavy thunderstorms until 4:00 PM today.
