On June 15, 2024, a shooting incident occurred at a car maintenance shop in Daliao District, Kaohsiung. The suspects fled after firing more than 20 shots, leading to a chase where some were arrested in Pingtung and Taichung. The last suspect turned himself in that afternoon, easing the tension for Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-Mai, who was participating in a mountain cleanup event. It was revealed that the suspects may have mistaken their target, possibly due to disputes related to luxury cars or gambling debts. Caution against imitating such behavior.
