Taiwan is known as the 'Orchid Kingdom' with an annual domestic and export turnover of up to 7 billion NTD. Orchids require meticulous care and vary in species each year to meet consumer demand, necessitating constant breeding efforts every 3 to 7 years for market acceptance. Despite the lengthy process, young farmers are increasingly joining the Orchid Breeding Association to integrate orchids into daily life. Breeding orchids involves patience and years of dedication, but newer generations are crucial for the industry's continued success, with even universities establishing orchid programs to nurture talent and enhance domestic consumption through various uses including religious ceremonies.
