Comedian Brian, founder of Satire Entertainment Company, held three stand-up comedy shows in Taipei named 'Brian's Interesting Speech' and refused to pay the $260,000 entertainment tax imposed by the Taipei City Taxation Bureau. Satire claimed the event was a 'speech' or 'lecture' and filed an administrative lawsuit, but the Taipei High Administrative Court ruled against Satire, stating that Brian's performance, with comedic effects and stand-up comedy style, did not change despite being named 'Interesting Speech.' Satire can still appeal the decision.
