British Billionaire Hinduja Family Sentenced to Four and a Half Years in Swiss Courts for Exploiting Domestic Workers

Yahoo News reported on June 21, 2024, that the wealthy Hinduja family in the UK, with an estimated wealth of £37 billion, has four members convicted in a Swiss court for exploiting Indian workers at their Geneva mansion. The workers alleged working 18 hours a day for a daily wage of only £7, which led to convictions for 'excessive gains' against the family members. Despite being cleared of human trafficking charges, the family members were found guilty of other offenses, shocking the family. The Swiss court sentenced the elder couple to four years and six months in prison, while their son and daughter-in-law received four-year sentences. The Hinduja Group, spanning various industries across 38 countries and with around 200,000 employees, will be appealing the court's decision.
