Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Shelby Harris criticized the reported proposal by the NFLPA to start training camp weeks earlier, questioning why the players' union would want to cut players' summer breaks short by eliminating spring workouts and moving up the start of training camp to mid-June. The proposal, which aims to reduce injury risk and maximize recovery time, is reportedly supported by a majority of players, although Harris and others like former player Geoff Schwartz have expressed opposition and concerns that this change could be a precursor to expanding the season to an 18-game schedule.
