A 62-year-old woman surnamed Gao, known as 'Amitabha Buddha Sister' for her public chanting of Buddhist scriptures in Taipei and New Taipei City, was recently hit from behind by a male motorcyclist while cycling across Zhongzheng Bridge in Yonghe District. She suffered a broken left hand, multiple abrasions, and a suspected concussion, and was promptly taken to the hospital. Despite encountering about 20 accidents due to her street activities in promoting Buddhism, she believes her safety each time is attributed to the protection of Amitabha Buddha.
