A 60-year-old subcontractor surnamed Wu from Hsinchu vented his anger at a construction company in New Taipei City for not settling a construction fee of 1.62 million NT dollars for five years. He went to the company, poured gasoline, and threatened to set it on fire. The police arrived, persuaded Wu to write a settlement letter, and then arrested him. Wu had been trying to collect the unpaid fees for the construction work contracted by the company, but to no avail. He resorted to extreme measures due to the alleged non-payment, which led to his arrest on charges of intimidation and creating a public danger.
