Taoyuan City Government recently revealed plans to build a new arena, with optimistic and proactive support from many city councilors. The government announced a budget of 250 million NTD for renovating the current 'Taoyuan Arena,' raising concerns about insufficient funds and a lack of interest in building a new arena. However, the government clarified that the new arena is actively being planned, focusing on the location between Taipei and Taichung as crucial. While discussions are ongoing, the immediate priority is repairing the fully booked Taoyuan Arena, with both efforts not mutually exclusive. Various resources are being evaluated, and proper positioning is deemed most critical for the new arena, amidst other major cities like Taipei, Taichung, and New Taipei also developing similar projects.
