Building Foundations: 13 Schools in Beira, Mozambique, Receive Aid

In June 2019, Typhoon Idai hit Beira, Mozambique, affecting 1.8 million people. Tzu Chi Foundation began aiding in reconstruction, focusing on building 13 schools with 243 classrooms in Beira, the largest campus redesign project in the area. The groundbreaking ceremony on June 14 was attended by the regional governor and featured a poem by a young boy expressing gratitude. The goal is to complete all schools by the end of 2025, providing access to education for 28,000 students from primary to high school levels.
