Taiwan's bulk shipping group, E.Yang-KY (2637), reported a self-operated revenue of about 1.833 billion NTD in June 2024, showing a monthly decrease rate of approximately 3.27% and a year-on-year increase of about 20.34%. The accumulated revenue for the first five months of 2024 was 10.224 billion NTD, with a year-on-year growth of 23.02% compared to the same period last year. The pre-tax EPS for this month is 0.83 NTD, and the cumulative pre-tax EPS is 4.31 NTD. Shareholders expressed optimism for the upcoming peak season in the second half of the year, praising the strength of E.Yang's chairman. The company also disclosed that the operating profit for June was 0.724 billion NTD and the pre-tax profit for the first six months was 6.18 billion NTD. Chairman Lai Chun-Sheng mentioned at the shareholders' meeting that bulk shipping index and freight rates have been steadily increasing since the end of 2023, indicating better prospects this year compared to last year, partly due to the low number of new ships during the pandemic and the pressure to phase out old vessels following environmental regulations, which is expected to boost bulk freight prices. Netizens are positive about the company's performance and future outlook.
