BYD Faces Surge of Consumer Complaints Following Smart EV Launch

After BYD's introduction of free smart driving features, over 4,700 complaints were lodged against the company on a popular Chinese consumer portal, with many customers claiming they overpaid for their vehicles. This spike in complaints contrasts sharply with just about 150 the previous week and indicates growing dissatisfaction, particularly regarding perceived unfair pricing and the release of upgraded models soon after purchase.
