China's BYD has introduced its third electric vehicle in Japan, the Seal EV sedan, with a starting price of 5.28 million yen. This marks BYD's expansion in the Japanese market dominated by domestic brands and could pose a challenge to local automakers. The Seal EV is available in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions, offering a cruising range of up to 640 km and 575 km respectively. BYD had previously launched two EV models in Japan, the Atto 3 and Dolphin EVs, selling around 2,500 units last year.
