The Ministry of Education announced after a Cabinet meeting that amendments to certain articles of the 'Student Counseling Act' have been passed, estimating an additional 603 full-time counselors for junior high and elementary schools, 192 for high schools, and 216 for colleges and universities, totaling an increase of 1,011 counselors across all levels of schools. The amendments aim to rationalize the adjustment of professional counseling manpower to provide timely assistance to students in need, reflecting the first review of the act in nearly a decade since its establishment in 2014.
