A serious cable car accident occurred in Colombia this week, where a car abruptly stopped before entering the station, causing the car behind to collide with it, leading to the front car falling and crashing to the ground, resulting in one death and nine injuries among the passengers. The incident, which took place in Medellín, is the most severe since the Metrocable system's inception in 2004, connecting low-income areas on steep hills to the city center to reduce crime rates.
