A pair of bald eagle parents in San Simeon, California, have adopted a baby red-tailed hawk that they initially brought back to their nest as food. The hawk chick is now living alongside the eagle parents and being cared for like their own young. While this situation is rare, it is not the first time observers have documented eagles raising a hawk chick in their nest. The outcome for the hawk chick remains uncertain, as it could either be successfully raised by the eagles or potentially eaten by them.
