California sheriff's deputy dies from methamphetamine effects on duty in an accident

A 41-year-old Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy passed away on duty due to a methamphetamine overdose at a sheriff’s station in April. The Los Angeles County medical examiner confirmed that Jonathan Stewart died on April 27 from the effects of methamphetamine in what was labeled as an accident. His death deeply saddened the sheriff's department, and he was remembered for his decade of service to the South Los Angeles community.
