The Thompson Fire in California has burned approximately 59 square miles of forest land, with nearly 3,000 wildfires occurring in the region so far, marking a 16-fold increase compared to the same period last year. With the wildfire season bringing challenges to fire departments each year, the government has introduced new firefighting aircraft to enhance disaster response, while local authorities are improving power infrastructure to reduce wildfire risks. Evacuation orders have been issued for about 28,000 people amid worsening fire conditions.
