People's Party Chairman Ko Wen-je anticipated that the next focus of opposition between the ruling and opposition parties will be the Fiscal Planning Law. Ko urged Lai Ching-te to run for president as a national leader and not to uphold the New Tide movement. He criticized the Democratic Progressive Party's reluctance to negotiate with the People's Party and denounced their approach of creating opposition while expecting support for their bills.
