A recent survey by AARP revealed that many Americans aged 50 and older are facing retirement challenges, with one-fifth having no retirement savings and 61% worrying about financial security in retirement in the U.S. Due to the high cost of living, some seniors are opting to retire overseas, particularly in Italy, where the cost of living is significantly lower compared to the U.S. Rent prices are 151% higher in the U.S. than in Italy, making it a more affordable option. Additionally, Italy offers a rich culture, lower healthcare costs, and tax benefits for expats, making it an attractive retirement destination for Americans.
