Jim Nickel, the Canadian representative to Taiwan, attended the '2024 Walk Life Festival X Canada National Day' event on June 23, 2024. The Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Office in Taiwan hold the annual 'Canada National Day' celebration in Taiwan, which this year will take place at the Huashan Cultural and Creative Park. Described as the largest National Day event in Asia and even overseas, the celebration this year on June 29 will also collaborate with the Cancer Foundation. The event aims to give back to Taiwanese society, with some booth proceeds being donated to the foundation, promoting cancer prevention and screening. It will feature a creative market, Canadian food stalls, performances from groups in Taiwan, North America, and Canada, as well as various activities such as face painting, ice hockey experiences, and an inflatable castle. Additionally, there will be cancer prevention activities and checkpoint challenges under the theme of 'National Practice 5 Skills Against Cancer with Ease.' The Vice Executive Director of the Taiwan Cancer Foundation, Tsai Li-Chuan, highlighted the significance of the foundation's involvement in this year's event, alongside the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Office's support.
